LockedIn
Terms of Use
Please read these Terms, especially the parts about subscriptions, partner pacts and stakes, the community rules, and the health disclaimer. LockedIn is a fitness tracking and accountability app. It is not medical advice, and it never handles money between people.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Elevated Systems LLC (“we”, “us”) about your use of the LockedIn app for iPhone and the website at lockedinwith.me (“LockedIn”). By downloading or using LockedIn you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”, section 17). If you do not agree, please do not use LockedIn. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Who can use LockedIn
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country if higher. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live) you need permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms for you.
- Body-fat scans are only for users aged 18 and over.
- You may not use LockedIn if we have previously removed you from it, or if the law prohibits you from using it.
3. Your account
You sign in with Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple Account secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Choose a handle that does not impersonate anyone, infringe anyone’s rights or offend. We may reclaim or change a handle that breaks these rules. You can delete your account at any time in the App under Me › Settings › Delete account, which permanently removes your account and data as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LockedIn on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and by the Standard EULA. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease LockedIn, or reverse engineer it or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows this despite this restriction. You may not scrape, overload or interfere with LockedIn or its servers, bypass its safeguards or rate limits, or access it other than through the App.
5. LockedIn Pro subscription
Some features require a LockedIn Pro auto-renewing subscription. Subscription information:
| Title | Length | Price (United States) | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| LockedIn Pro Annual | 1 year | US$44.99 per year | 7 days, new subscribers only |
LockedIn Pro is the only subscription we offer. It gives full access to every LockedIn feature for the length of the subscription. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you confirm, and prices differ by country. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial (an Apple introductory offer, available once per Apple Account for this subscription group; Apple decides eligibility). You are charged US$44.99 per year automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase or, if you start with the free trial, when the trial ends.
- Free trial. The 7-day free trial is offered to new subscribers only. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same length at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the free trial or current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings: on your iPhone open Settings › your name › Subscriptions › LockedIn, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling during the trial means you are not charged; cancelling later stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the App or your LockedIn account does not cancel a subscription.
- Billing and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. We do not see your payment details and cannot issue refunds ourselves; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restoring. If you reinstall or change devices, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases.
- Price changes. If we change the price, Apple will notify you as its rules require and, where required, ask for your consent before you are charged the new price.
Our Privacy Policy and these Terms are also linked from the subscription screen in the App and from App Store Connect.
6. Friends, the feed, stories and snaps
LockedIn lets you connect with friends, family and a partner and, if you choose, share your progress with them. You decide what to share; please think before sharing anything you would not want a friend to see or save. Posts and stories go to your friends (your Circle) unless you choose Public. Public posts and stories can be seen, and public posts liked and commented on, by anyone signed in to LockedIn, including people you do not know. Stories disappear after 24 hours, and the author can see who viewed them. Snaps go only to friends you pick and open once; LockedIn does not prevent screenshots. Friends can see when you are online unless you turn that off in Settings. Only post or send photos of other people with their permission, and never of anyone in a private setting such as a locker room.
7. Partners, pair streaks, weekly pacts, stakes and IOUs
You can pair with one partner at a time, by mutual consent, and either of you can end the partnership at any time. Partners can propose weekly pacts: a number of training days per person for 1, 2 or 4 weeks, with an optional stake. A pact is complete only if each person hits their own days in every week; it ends as failed at the first week anyone misses. Counting, results and XP are calculated by our servers from what you log, and our determination of results is final for purposes of the App.
Pacts and stakes are social features only. A stake is a label that you and your partner choose (for example “Coffee” or “Lunch”). LockedIn never moves, holds, processes, collects, escrows, guarantees or tracks money, goods or services, and is not a party to any stake. An IOU is a note in the App that one person owes the other the agreed stake. It is an honor system between you and your partner: we do not enforce IOUs, verify that any stake was delivered, or resolve disputes about them, and an IOU is not a legally binding promise or a wager. The person owed may mark an IOU settled or forgive it. Do not use stakes for gambling, anything illegal, anything dangerous or humiliating, or anything involving minors or another person’s money. Use the report tool for stakes that break the Community Rules. At most three IOUs can be open per pair.
8. Your content
You own what you create in LockedIn: your logs, photos, posts, comments and profile (“Your Content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, copy and display Your Content only as needed to operate LockedIn, including showing it to the people you choose to share it with (and to all LockedIn users, if you choose Public). This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, or when a story or snap expires, except for copies others have already received or saved, content kept to review a report, and backups kept for a short time. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it follows these Terms.
9. Community rules (user-generated content)
LockedIn has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. When you post, comment, share a story, send a snap, nudge someone, write a stake, or choose a handle or profile photo, you agree not to share or do anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens, shames or intimidates anyone, including about their body, weight or appearance;
- is hateful or discriminatory, or promotes violence;
- contains nudity or sexual content, or any sexual or exploitative content involving minors;
- promotes self-harm, eating disorders or dangerous weight-loss practices;
- promotes or sells illegal drugs, steroids or other controlled substances, or anything else illegal;
- shares someone else’s private information or photos without their permission;
- impersonates anyone or misrepresents who you are;
- infringes anyone’s intellectual property or other rights; or
- is spam, advertising, a scam, or malicious code.
Reporting and blocking. Every post, comment, story, snap and profile in the App has Report and Block options. You can also email lockedin@elevatedsystems.info with the person’s handle and what happened. Blocking removes someone from your circle and hides what they share from you, and what you share from them.
Our response. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours, which may include removing the content, warning, suspending or permanently removing the user who posted it, and, where required, reporting to the authorities. Photos in public posts, stories and snaps, and profile photos, are checked automatically for nudity, sexual content and violence before anyone else can see them. These checks can make mistakes in both directions, and passing one does not mean content follows these Terms. Apart from those checks we do not routinely monitor private sharing between friends, but we may review, remove or restrict any content or account that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law, or could harm others.
10. Health and fitness disclaimer
LockedIn is not medical advice. It is a tool for tracking and sharing your fitness. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional.
- Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise program or diet or significantly changing your weight, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or take medication.
- Exercise, and heavy lifting in particular, carries a risk of injury. Use proper form, warm up, train within your ability, and use a spotter where appropriate. Stop and seek medical help if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
- Estimated one-rep maxes, calorie and macro numbers, recovery scores, body-fat estimates, equipment identification and Spark’s coaching are approximations. Do not treat them as precise or rely on them for medical decisions.
- Pacts and streaks are motivation, not obligations. Rest when you are sick or injured; do not train through pain to keep a streak or avoid an IOU. If you are struggling with eating, weight or body image, please reach out to a health professional or local support service.
You use LockedIn and follow any goal, pact or plan at your own risk.
11. Body-fat scans, AI food estimates, equipment scans and Spark
Body-fat scans are only for users 18 and over. Only scan yourself, and never upload photos of anyone else or of anyone under 18. Photos and data for these features are sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini), as described in our Privacy Policy. Results are AI-generated estimates and can be wrong. They are not a medical measurement or diagnosis. Check and edit AI food estimates before you log them. Spark is an AI coach: it can make mistakes, and its replies are general fitness coaching only.
12. Lock in mode
Lock in mode uses Apple’s Screen Time features to block the apps you choose during a session. Blocking depends on iOS and your device settings and may not always work. Do not rely on it for safety or emergencies; you can end a session at any time.
13. Third-party services
LockedIn relies on services provided by others, including Apple, Google Firebase, Google Cloud Vision (photo checks), Google Gemini (AI features), RevenueCat, Superwall and Meta, as described in our Privacy Policy. Those services are provided under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
14. Changes to LockedIn
We may update LockedIn, adding, changing or removing features, and we may stop offering it. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using LockedIn at any time and delete your account in the App. We may suspend or end your access, and remove your content, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk or harm for other users or for us. Where appropriate we will tell you why. If we end your access without cause, any paid subscription should be cancelled through Apple, and you can ask Apple for a refund for the unused period. These Terms, including your license, end automatically if you break them. The sections on your content, health disclaimer, warranties, liability, indemnity, Apple and governing law continue after these Terms end.
16. Intellectual property, no warranty and limitation of liability
LockedIn, including its software, design, name, logo, the Spark character and the content we provide, is owned by Elevated Systems LLC and its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your license in section 4, we reserve all rights. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LockedIn is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that LockedIn will be uninterrupted or error-free, that results, streaks, pacts or AI estimates will be accurate, or that it will never lose data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elevated Systems LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, or for any injury arising from exercise or diet, or for any dispute between you and a partner or friend (including about a stake or IOU), arising out of or relating to LockedIn or these Terms. Our total liability for all claims relating to LockedIn is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for LockedIn in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Elevated Systems LLC against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your misuse of LockedIn or your breach of these Terms.
17. Apple and the App Store
LockedIn is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and Apple’s Standard EULA applies together with these Terms. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict. You and we acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and Elevated Systems LLC only, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for LockedIn and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for LockedIn.
- If LockedIn fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to LockedIn or your use of it, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims LockedIn infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, if the changes are significant, tell you in the App. If you keep using LockedIn after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
20. General
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we have not waived it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. These Terms, together with the Standard EULA and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about LockedIn.
